What is this Beep thing?

Beep is a smartphone application for Android and iOS devices, and a messaging service that allows organisations and schools to send messages to their communities.

So I need a smartphone?

You mean you don’t have one already?

Seriously though, you’ll need an iOS device running iOS 9.0 or higher, or an Android device running Android 4.0 or higher to use Beep.

And I’ll need a mobile data connection?

Yes. Or WiFi.

Beeps will only get delievered to your phone when you have an active mobile data or WiFi connection.

But I live in the wop-wops and get poor reception!

If you don’t always have a data connection, you may receive some messages with a delay.

We do instruct organisations to send really time critical alerts through all channels (so you may get a beep and a text message).

Technology isn’t my thing, I dont have a data connection at all…

If you rarely have a data connection on your device, we recommend you unsubscribe from receiving Beeps. This lets you use Beep for it’s other features, but ensures that organisations will only ever send you text messages.
